Nexbit AI is a micro:bit educational robot car with an AI module that has a built-in microphone, speaker, 2MP camera and touchscreen. The module runs on an ESP32-S3, supports the XiaoZhi platform and combines text, voice and vision models, so the robot can hold a conversation, recognise what it sees and turn spoken commands into movement. A glowy ultrasonic sensor, a 4-channel line follower and RGB lights cover line following, obstacle avoidance and distance measuring. The Advanced Kit adds a lightweight anti-stall metal gripper for pick-and-carry tasks. Hiwonder provides step-by-step guides and tutorials covering programming and multimodal AI.

What it does

Built for.

  • Multimodal AI module

The WonderLLM module integrates text, voice and vision models for natural conversation and control, with encyclopedia-style questions and answers shown on its display and spoken aloud.

  • Voice into action

Spoken commands drive line following and obstacle avoidance through the chassis, and the camera identifies objects so the robot understands what it is asked to do.

  • Metal gripper (Advanced Kit)

The anti-stall metal gripper grabs, carries and places objects from the app or a program, for example picking up an item while following a line and dropping it at a set point.

  • Sensors

Four infrared sensor pairs, with a rotary adjustment, follow lines and recognise intersections. The glowy ultrasonic sensor measures distance and glows in different colours to show the robot's status.

  • micro:bit programming

Program it with micro:bit graphical blocks or JavaScript, or use the app. Built-in functions include sound and light interaction, gravity control, touch control, image transmission, and face and colour recognition.

  • Battery

An 1800mAh rechargeable battery gives up to 90 minutes of use and charges through a built-in USB port.

Where it is used

Applications.

  • Introducing large AI models and embodied AI in primary and secondary classrooms
  • micro:bit coding with blocks or JavaScript
  • Voice-controlled line following and obstacle avoidance
  • Pick-and-carry challenges (Advanced Kit)
