Teachers and faculty

Train the trainer first.

Teachers and faculty are the multiplier. Training the person who will go on teaching it for years is worth more than training one more cohort, so we train the staff a school or department already has and then teach alongside them.

Three kinds of teacher

Who is being trained, and for what.

School teachers

To run the robot lab. We train the teachers, then co-teach the first term, so the school does not need a robotics teacher on day one. Curriculum for every grade, DobotLab, and the badges and showcase that go with it.

University faculty

Operator and drag-to-teach workshops before the students arrive, and SDK onboarding for research groups. Faculty first, then curriculum, then students.

Teachers using AI in their own work

The AI at Work track for education and training: planning, differentiated materials, assessment and communication, with the teacher in control.

How it runs

Before, during, after.

  1. 01

    Before the lab arrives

Staff workshops at the campus or on site, on the robots the school has ordered.

  2. 02

    The first term

We co-teach. Our mentor in the room with your teacher, the teacher leading a little more each week.

  3. 03

    After

Service from Abu Dhabi, refresher sessions for the staff, and the same mentor at the showcase.

The case

The lab is only as good as the Tuesday morning lesson.

A lab installed without trained teachers becomes a storeroom. Every school we have seen that happen to bought good equipment. What it did not buy was the term of co-teaching that turns a room of robots into a timetable.

Questions

What heads of department ask.

Do teachers need a technical background?+

No. The primary and early-years kits are designed to be taught by class teachers. Secondary cobots need a teacher who is willing rather than one who is qualified, and we do the rest in the first term.

Can you train the whole staff at once?+

Yes, on site, in the school's own lab, usually in the week before term.

Do you run faculty workshops outside the UAE?+

Yes, across the six GCC countries.

If the lab is ordered and the term starts in September, the staff workshops belong in August.
