miniAuto
An entry-level Arduino robot car on mecanum wheels, with an ESP32-S3 vision module and ultrasonic sensor.
- Arduino
- Suggested for secondary
miniAuto is an entry-level AI vision robot car from Hiwonder. Its main controller is fully compatible with the Arduino UNO R3 and is programmed in the Arduino IDE. Mecanum wheels move it in any direction, and an ESP32-S3 WiFi vision module, a glowy ultrasonic sensor, a 4-channel line follower and a Bluetooth module give it colour and face recognition, line following and obstacle avoidance. The Advanced Kit adds a gripper for transport tasks, and reserved expansion ports leave room for further development.
Zeta42 is an authorised Hiwonder partner in the Middle East.

What it does
Built for.
Arduino at the core
The controller pairs an Arduino UNO R3 with an expansion board that drives four motors and takes extra sensors and a Bluetooth module. Programs are written and debugged in the Arduino IDE.
WiFi vision module
The ESP32-S3 vision module sits on an adjustable mount and handles colour recognition, face recognition, colour tracking and vision line following.
Sensors
The glowy ultrasonic sensor measures distance and shows coloured light as feedback, and four infrared sensors follow lines and detect where they change.
Mecanum wheels
Omnidirectional mecanum wheels let miniAuto move in any direction, drift in a circle and follow zigzag routes.
Gripper (Advanced Kit)
With the gripper, miniAuto can carry objects by remote control, while following a line, or by vision: it finds blocks of a chosen colour, grips them and moves them to a set area.
App and glove control
The iOS and Android app connects over Bluetooth. A wireless glove with an IMU, sold separately, steers the car with wrist movements.
