IoT Smart House Kit
A micro:bit model house with sensors, a fan, a pump and app control, for learning IoT and home automation.
- micro:bit
- Suggested for primary
- Suggested for secondary
The IoT Smart House Kit is a model house powered by micro:bit for learning the Internet of Things. Light, soil, temperature and humidity, raindrop and ultrasonic sensors feed automation projects: a cooling fan, an automatic door, night and sound alarms, a clothes rack that retracts in the rain, and soil-triggered irrigation with a water pump. The house communicates over 2.4G Wi-Fi and can be controlled from an iOS or Android app. Learners build each system by programming the micro:bit. The kit is sold with or without a micro:bit.
Zeta42 is an authorised Hiwonder partner in the Middle East.

What it does
Built for.
Temperature and door control
When the temperature passes 30°C and humidity passes 80%, the fan turns on to cool the house. The door opens and closes on the micro:bit's A and B buttons.
Alarms
A night alarm beeps when the light sensor reads dim light and the ultrasonic sensor finds something ahead, and a sound alarm beeps when it is dark and the sound level passes a threshold.
Rain and soil
A raindrop sensor and a light sensor drive a clothes rack that retracts indoors when rain is detected and the sky darkens. A soil module and water pump run a soil humidity detection and automatic irrigation system.
Wireless control
The house communicates over 2.4G Wi-Fi using TCP and can be controlled from the iOS and Android app.
Learn by coding
Each system is built by programming the micro:bit, so learners see how sensor readings become decisions in an IoT system.
