DaDablock AI Vision Kit

An ESP32 building block kit with an offline AI vision module, in a 9-build Standard or 18-build Advanced Kit.

  • ESP32
  • Suggested for primary
  • Suggested for secondary

The DaDablock AI Vision Kit is a set of programmable electronic building blocks for AI education, built around an ESP32 controller and the WonderLens AI vision module. The module runs on a 1 TOPS K210 chip and recognises faces, colours, numbers, tags, traffic signs and waste types, with feature learning and line following, all without an internet connection. The Standard Kit makes 9 official builds and the Advanced Kit all 18, adding servos, a glowing ultrasonic sensor and a 4-channel line follower. Learners program in Scratch blocks and Python, with step-by-step tutorials.

What it does

Built for.

  • Offline AI vision

The WonderLens module runs on a 1 TOPS K210 chip with a 2MP wide-angle camera and its own LCD screen. Its recognition modes work without an internet connection, and new faces can be taught with one click.

  • Two kits

The Standard Kit has the vision module, a dot matrix module and two block motors, and makes 9 builds. The Advanced Kit adds two block servos, a glowing ultrasonic sensor and a 4-channel line follower, and makes all 18.

  • Projects with the supplied cards

Number, tag, traffic sign and waste classification cards set up exercises such as a model self-checkout, sign-guided driving and waste sorting.

  • ESP32 controller

The controller has ports for sensors and motors, a built-in buzzer and RGB lighting, and two 18650 battery slots on the back with a protection chip against overcharging.

  • Fits standard LEGO parts

Modules match standard LEGO parts in interface and size and join with pins rather than screws. Side and bottom holes line up with LEGO Technic parts, and every module uses the same 4-pin plug.

  • Scratch and Python

Learners program in Scratch blocks and move on to Python. Each build comes with a program and clear learning objectives.

Where it is used

Applications.

  • Introducing AI vision in primary and secondary lessons
  • Sorting and recognition projects with the supplied cards
  • Model driving with vision line following and traffic signs
  • A first course in moving from block coding to Python
