Robot arms

xArm UNO

xArm 1S with an Arduino UNO sensor kit for colour, sound, touch, light, infrared and distance projects.

  • Arduino
  • Suggested for secondary

xArm UNO pairs the xArm 1S robot arm with Hiwonder's Arduino secondary development kit: an UNO R3 board and expansion board on an acrylic stand, with colour, sound, touch and light sensors, three infrared obstacle sensors, a glowing ultrasonic sensor and an OLED display. Students program it in Arduino to make the arm react to what the sensors detect, from colour sorting and sound control to a password lock and a claw machine game. The arm can also be driven by wireless handle, app, PC software or mouse. It is sold with the arm assembled or unassembled, and the sensor development kit is also offered on its own.

Zeta42 is an authorised Hiwonder partner in the Middle East.

What it does

Built for.

  • Sorting by sensor

Three infrared sensors detect objects in front of the arm so it can clear them away, the colour sensor drives colour sorting, and the OLED display shows what the sensors read.

  • Sound, touch and light

Make a sound to trigger a pick-up, use the touch sensor for a passcode lock or a claw machine game, and show light readings on the OLED for light control.

  • Distance with a glowing sensor

The glowing ultrasonic sensor measures distance for accurate gripping, and its lights can be set to custom colours.

  • The xArm 1S arm

Six degrees of freedom on intelligent bus servos, an aluminium alloy body and the xArm 1S bus servo controller, which connects to the sensor kit by a 4-pin cable.

  • Control without code

Drive the arm with the PS2 wireless handle over Bluetooth, the app, a wired or wireless mouse, or graphical PC software with a slider for each servo.
