TonyPi Pro
TonyPi with open-close hands, a sensor pack and AI voice: a Raspberry Pi 5 humanoid that grasps and carries.

- Suggested for secondary
- Suggested for university
TonyPi Pro is the TonyPi humanoid robot with Hiwonder's upgrade pack fitted. It keeps TonyPi's Raspberry Pi 5, its 18 degrees of freedom and its HD camera on a 2DOF head, and adds open-close robotic hands for 20 degrees of freedom in all, the WonderEcho Pro AI voice interaction box, a sensor expansion pack and a wireless controller. The hands open up to 66mm, so TonyPi Pro can grasp, sort and carry small objects, and an upgraded gait lets it clear hurdles and climb stairs it finds with OpenCV. Through ChatGPT, and other models via OpenRouter, it takes spoken commands, describes what it sees and moves objects to named places. Hiwonder also offers the upgrade pack on its own, to turn an existing TonyPi into a TonyPi Pro.

What it does
Built for.
What the Pro adds
Compared with the TonyPi Advanced Kit, TonyPi Pro adds open-close hands, a sensor expansion pack, a wireless controller and props, for intelligent transport, grabbing and sorting, group control and sensor projects.
Hands that open to 66mm
Two extra degrees of freedom open and close the hands. Working with the camera, TonyPi Pro judges an object's distance, adjusts its speed and grasps it steadily.
Hurdles and stairs
While following a line, OpenCV picks out hurdles and stairs with their coordinates and outlines, and the upgraded gait steps over or climbs them on its own.
Voice and large AI models
The WonderEcho Pro voice box and ChatGPT turn spoken commands into actions: tracking and kicking a ball, patrolling a line, describing a scene, reporting temperature and humidity, or moving an object to a named place with a vision language model through OpenRouter.
Sensor expansion pack
Ultrasonic, touch, fan, temperature and humidity and dot matrix modules add distance ranging, touch responses, a face-triggered fan and an environment display.
Control and group play
The WonderPi app, PC software and wireless controller all drive it, and one wireless controller can move several TonyPi Pro robots in step.
