- ESP32
- Suggested for primary
- Suggested for secondary
Tonybot is a programmable humanoid robot for education, with 17 joints driven by high-voltage serial bus servos and anti-blocking servos. A servo controller drives the joints while an ESP32 expansion board manages the modules, and a glowing ultrasonic sensor in its head measures distance and avoids obstacles. It can be programmed in Arduino, Scratch or Python. The Advanced Kit adds an ESP32-S3 vision module, the WonderEcho AI voice interaction module and a sensor expansion pack, for colour and face recognition, line following, voice control and IoT projects. The Ultimate Kit adds a large AI model module with text, speech and vision models for natural dialogue and scene understanding.
Zeta42 is an authorised Hiwonder partner in the Middle East.

What it does
Built for.
17 joints
High-voltage serial bus servos and anti-blocking servos let Tonybot walk, turn, dance and do gymnastics with stability and precision.
AI vision (Advanced and Ultimate Kit)
The ESP32-S3 vision module recognises colours, detects faces with a lightweight neural network, tracks coloured objects and follows lines of different colours.
Voice interaction (Advanced and Ultimate Kit)
The WonderEcho module recognises Chinese and English commands up to 5 metres away, replies aloud, and on a spoken command starts Tonybot's fall recovery.
Large AI models (Ultimate Kit)
The large AI model module, with a 2MP camera and an LCD touchscreen, links Tonybot to text, speech and vision models for natural dialogue, scene understanding and spoken answers that draw on its ultrasonic and IMU readings.
Sensors and IoT (Advanced and Ultimate Kit)
Touch, sound, fan, temperature and humidity and dot matrix modules support creative projects, and the app gives remote control, light settings and alerts.
Three languages
The hardware works with the Arduino IDE, with open, commented source code, and also supports Scratch blocks and Python. Graphical PC software edits action groups with sliders.
