JetMax Pro

The JetMax vision arm on a mecanum wheel chassis or an electric sliding rail, for picking and transfer.

  • NVIDIA Jetson
  • Suggested for university

JetMax Pro is Hiwonder's JetMax AI vision robot arm, in its Advanced Kit, expanded with a mecanum wheel chassis or an electric sliding rail to build picking and transfer scenes. It runs on an NVIDIA Jetson Nano and ROS. On the chassis, four encoder geared motors and mecanum wheels move it in any direction, and the camera on the arm follows lines, reads AprilTag blocks and tracks targets. On the rail, the arm's controller drives the stepper motor directly and calculates how far the rail has moved, for sorting and stacking over a longer reach. Deep learning and AI vision cover waste sorting, object sorting and fingertip control.

What it does

Built for.

  • Two versions

Choose JetMax Advanced with a mecanum wheel chassis or with an electric sliding rail. The chassis makes it a mobile picker; the rail extends its reach along a line, like a small production line.

  • Movement in any direction

Four encoder geared motors and four mecanum wheels move the chassis forwards, sideways, diagonally and on the spot, powered by an 11.1V 6000mAh LiPo battery.

  • Vision on the move

The camera on the arm follows a line while it recognises AprilTag blocks and carries them to set positions. With MediaPipe it follows fingertip trajectories, and a PID algorithm steers the chassis to track a target.

  • Sorting along the rail

With trained models, the arm recognises waste cards and slides them to a distant sorting area, or reads AprilTags to sort and stack blocks over a longer distance. A wireless handle moves both the end effector and the rail.

  • App and wireless handle

The WonderAi app drives JetMax Pro and shows the camera's live view, and a wireless handle works without complex set-up.

  • Expansion board

The expansion board has PWM servo, DC motor and serial bus servo ports, a buzzer, keys, a serial port, GPIO and I2C interfaces, and a 4-channel encoder motor driver runs the chassis motors.

Where it is used

Applications.

  • Teaching mobile manipulation: find an object, pick it up and carry it
  • Model production lines that sort waste cards and tagged blocks along a rail
  • University courses in ROS, machine vision and deep learning
  • Gesture and target tracking projects with MediaPipe and PID control
