NexArm ROS Suspended Mobile Chassis Kit
NexArm ROS on a suspended mecanum or tank chassis, for mobile tracking, line following and 3D grasping.
- Raspberry Pi
- NVIDIA Jetson
- Suggested for university
The NexArm ROS Suspended Mobile Chassis Kit mounts the NexArm ROS robot arm on a suspended chassis, with a choice of mecanum wheels or tank tracks. The robot can be driven from the app with a live first-person video feed or from a wireless controller, and with its 3D depth camera it tracks targets, follows coloured lines, recognises waste for sorting and grasps objects in 3D. The arm keeps its two controllers, a Raspberry Pi 5 or NVIDIA Jetson with an ESP32, and runs multimodal large AI models and the OpenClaw agent. It runs ROS 2 Humble, and Hiwonder supplies tutorials, source code and system images.

What it does
Built for.
Mecanum or tank chassis
The mecanum chassis can move in any direction across the floor by setting each wheel's speed and direction. The tank chassis uses anti-slip tracks, encoder motors and multi-wheel drive for precise driving and turning.
Suspension for uneven ground
Both chassis are suspended. On the tank chassis, Hiwonder's suspension uses carbon steel torsion springs and stainless steel bearings to help the robot adapt to uneven and rough terrain.
Vision on the move
The depth camera locks on to a target and follows it, follows lines of a chosen colour, and with YOLO26 recognises waste for sorting. Fusing colour and depth lets the arm grasp, sort and carry objects in 3D.
Remote control
The app streams real-time first-person video for remote driving, and the wireless controller drives the robot and can be programmed with custom actions.
Large AI models and OpenClaw
Language and vision models working with the OpenClaw agent handle tasks such as understanding a scene, tracking a moving object and gathering data into reports.
Choosing a controller
The host controller is a Raspberry Pi 5, a Jetson Nano or a Jetson Orin Nano Super, working with the ESP32 controller that drives the servos.
